Photographer Kris Dorst found her passion for both animals and photography at a very young age. Growing up in Southern California and spending summers with her grandparents in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, she is now based in Tucson though she continues to travel extensively.
For Kris, combining her two greatest passions was a natural progression and after graduation from the University of Arizona she established Four Legged Friends Photography. Kris was immediately recognized for her ability to capture that amazing bond between animals and their beloved people. She prefers to keep her sessions in a natural, outdoor setting where animals are usually most comfortable. During private sessions she works to create a sense of laughter and play where pets and their people can relax and have fun.
A very involved animal activist, Kris donates both her time and space on her website to local non-profit organizations. In 2008 she photographed shelter pets for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona's Christmas card. She has been the official photographer for several pet-related fundraisers here in Tucson. Kris has enjoyed traveling abroad in pursuit of beautiful photos and is receiving national recognition: recently ten of her photographs were included in a show at the APW Gallery in New York.
Kris’ portfolio can be found on her website: www.fourleggedphotos.com as well as works for sale, Kris’ blog on current pet news, a calendar of pet-friendly events around Tucson and detailed information on setting up a private photo shoot for you and your four-legged friends.
